Health for Life!
|
| The Work, Health and Families Forum held at Old Canberra House on 25-26 August 2003 brought together leading researchers and policy makers to discuss the links between parents' employment conditions, the wellbeing of children and the sustainability of families. As well as discussion of the NCEPH Health for Life! research project that is currently underway, there were several presentations on working time issues, including new research on the effects of Sunday working on family life and on the impact of other parent work schedules on children. Other papers covered childcare, flexible working arrangements and current policy approaches to these issues. The forum was organised by NCEPH's Public Health Resident and supported by the Department of Family and Community Services. The presentations and discussion were of such a high calibre that participants recommended publishing these proceedings.
