Research Interests

  • Theory-driven empirical research with particular focus on the epidemiology of social capital and common mental health problems.
  • Applications of social capital and mental health to the epidemiology of obesity and unhealthy weight and to issues of work, family and health.
  • Advanced quantitative techniques, such as structural equations modelling, multilevel modelling and statistical profiling.
  • Urban and rural environments and mental health.
  • Translation of research into policy.
