Research Interests

  • Work, family and well-being of parents and children
  • Quality of work and health
  • Social environments, mental and physical health: especially the importance of care and supportive relationships (at work and at home).
  • Linkages between macro-economic contexts such as globalization and the 24-hour economy, to changes in the quality of work and family life - the implications for parent and child well-being and for a sustainable society.
  • Interpersonal interactions, support giving and emotional contagion that influence effective management and service delivery in the workplace, and close and cohesive relationships in families.

NCEPH and Families Australia hosted the first National Family Wellbeing Symposium in June this year. The focus was on the meaning and measurement of family wellbeing, to develop a framework for policy and research.
