PhD student selected as World Social Science Fellow

Thursday 11 April 2013

Ferne Edwards, a current PhD student at NCEPH, was recently selected as one of twenty World Social Science Fellow at the recent Sustainable Urbanization conference in Quito, Equador. The conference, organised by the International Social Science Council, brought together early career scientists from across the social science discplines to identify the most important research questions for sustainable urbanization over the next 5-10 years.

"I can say that the experience was a very positive one - the other attendees and presenters were inspiring representing many different areas of social sciences relating to sustainable urbanization. The organisation of the conference worked exceptionally well to bring out new perspectives on the topic to then focus within a very short period of time to organise the beginnings of a book on the subject. We are all very eager to see where it will lead."
