Applied Epidemiology

The applied epidemiology program runs the Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) program, which is the Australian Field Epidemiology Training Program.

The MAE program places scholars in health departments, national centres of disease surveillance, and research institutions where they conduct applied epidemiological research projects.

Under this research theme, staff conduct research into surveillance and response to human disease outbreaks, which includes methods of training and teaching field epidemiology.

The MAE program is linked to a global network of FETP through membership of TEPHINET.
