Cancer survivorship: large-scale data on person-centred outcomes

Collaborative work on cancer will focus on providing large-scale data on cancer prevention and early detection. The Population Attributable Fraction in Cancer Consortium combines individual Australian cohort study data and employs novel methods to more accurately quantify the impact of risk factors on cancer incidence. Collaboration with Cancer Council NSW will use data from the 45 and Up Study to conduct innovative research to provide large-scale quantitative evidence for decision making on investments in cancer control. Priority areas will include cancer incidence in relation to smoking, alcohol, prostate cancer screening, overweight/obesity and hormonal factors. A new collaboration aims to use data from >45,000 cancer survivors from the 45 and Up Study to quantify short- and long-term person-centred outcomes for different cancer types, as well as time since diagnosis, and treatment status.
