The Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute (APHCRI) was established at The Australian National University in 2003 as part of the Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) Strategy of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
On 31 December 2015 the contract between ANU and the Department of Health for APHCRI ceased. Research reports and past APHCRI activity will remain available on the RSPH website. The Primary Health Care Research and Information Service (PHCRIS) has offered to assist with dissemination of research reports.
