National Survey of Attitudes to cognitive health and lifestyle

Research has identified multiple health risk factors for dementia and cognitive decline, with many being modifiable through lifestyle changes. This project is funded by the Centre of Excellence on Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) and involves a National Survey to find out about people’s attitudes to cognitive health, and cognitive health lifestyles across different age groups. The project focusses specifically on behaviours people are engaged in for their cognitive health, whether they think those behaviours may help and what benefits they have. The survey also examines the roles stereotypes and fears play in these beliefs and behaviours.
