About
This project will support the mapping and characterisation of sea grapes (Caulerpa spp.) availability across Indonesia and selected global regions using literature review, secondary datasets, aquaculture reports, and geospatial mapping approaches. The project aligns with an ongoing Indonesia–Australia collaborative research program focused on developing nanoliposome products from sea grapes for diabetes prevention and treatment.
The FRT fellow will contribute to identifying major production areas, environmental suitability, cultivation practices, market potential, and nutritional relevance of sea grapes at national, regional, and global scales. The project will also explore opportunities for sustainable blue food systems and public health nutrition applications.
The placement will provide hands-on experience in evidence synthesis, GIS/spatial mapping, food systems research, and scientific writing, with opportunities for publication development and future research collaboration.
