Our mission
NCEPH advances population health and equity through interdisciplinary research and education. We partner with governments and communities to inform policy, address health inequalities, and train public health leaders.
Improve and protect population health and health equity for all
The National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) is a highly collaborative, engaged, interdisciplinary Research School that seeks to improve population health and wellbeing in Australia, regionally and throughout the world to ensure that people can thrive.
As a vibrant, future-focused centre, NCEPH serves society through its transformational research and education. We tackle the complex challenges of today and tomorrow by building the best evidence and by training new generations of public health professionals, policy-makers and researchers.
We partner with governments and communities to solve problems that matter. Our expertise informs policy and practice. We advocate for positive and lasting change to the systems that drive health inequalities, and we work to strengthen the systems that serve to heal and prevent poor health.
Underpinning NCEPH’s approach is a rare deep courage, unafraid to unravel complexity and challenge the status quo to find solutions needed for a healthier population.
