Valuing health and human life in policy-making. Why is health (not so) different?

Professor Emily Lancsar will use this seminar to run through a Keynote presentation she is giving at the Society for Benefit Cost Analysis international conference.

In that she will: discuss the role of economics and economic evaluation in health policy; the ways in which the application of economic evaluation in the health sector has differed to and in parts remained the same as the application of economic evaluation in public policy more broadly; and provide an overview of a program of work valuing health and human life, including the recent multi-national Preferences for Pandemic Preparedness study which quantified the value of life in a pandemic. Feedback welcome!
