CMHR PhD student Aliza Hunt wins 2018 Grace Groom memorial scholarship

27 November 2018

Congratulations to CMHR PhD Student Aliza Hunt, who was awarded the 2018 Grace Groom memorial Scholarship at the Mental Health Australia Grace Groom memorial oration on 29 November 2017.

The Grace Groom Memorial Oration was established in 2007 to honour the memory of Grace Groom, a former CEO of Mental Health Australia (then, the Mental Health Council of Australia). Ms Groom passed away in 2006 and is remembered as a strong, committed reformist who worked tirelessly to create a better mental health system for people with mental illness and their carers.

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support to international or domestic postgraduate students enrolled in study and research relating to mental health issues.

The 2018 Grace Groom Memorial Oration took place on Monday 26 November from 6:30pm at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.
