CMHR PhD student wins Grace Groom Memorial Scholarship

30 October 2015

Congratulations to CMHR PhD student Kathina Ali, the winner of the inaugural Grace Groom memorial scholarship, which was presented at the annual Grace Groom Oration dinner on Wednesday 21 October 2015. The scholarship was established by Mental Health Australia from a donation made by the Groom family in memory of Dr Grace Groom, a former Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Australia. Grace was tireless advocate for mental health in Australia. The purpose of the Grace Groom Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial support to ANU international or domestic postgraduate students engaged in mental health research.

Kathina submitted a proposal to assist with the implementation of “ProYouth OZ” an Internet-based prevention and early intervention program for eating disorders based on the German ProYouth program.
