Gabriele Bammer has received a $60K grant from the Defence Science and Technology Group to “Establish proof of concept for convening six working groups to investigate approaches for eliciting, understanding, modelling and managing unknowns”.  She attended a meeting of the Modelling Complex Warfighting Strategic Research Investment in Melbourne in December.

In late December Gabriele Bammer attended meetings for the “Collaboration Lab” project in Lincoln, New Zealand and ran a successful one-day workshop in Christchurch entitled “What can Our Land and Water programmes do to be more effective in who and how they engage with stakeholders and other science disciplines?” In January she attended (virtually) a meeting at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center in Annapolis for the pursuit on participatory modelling which is part of the theme of activities she leads.

Gabriele Bammer has been invited to be a keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Our Land and Water Science Challenge in April. She has also been invited to present a seminar at the Institute of Science, Technology and Policy at ETH-Zurich in March.

Gabriele Bammer was a review panel member (as the Vice-Chancellor’s representative) for the external review of the ANU’s Crawford School of Public Policy.

Gabriele Bammer and Peter Deane produced the January/February edition of i2S News (http://i2s.anu.edu.au/what-i2s/i2s-publications/i2s-news) and continued to produce the i2Insights blog (http://i2insights.org). The blog has had 189 contributors from 27 countries and more than 104,000 views from people spread across 169 of the 193 countries recognized by the United Nations.
