Welcome to Dr Ben Polkinghorne and Dr Emma Field who have joined the MAE program this month. Emma is former MAE alumni and will be working half-time with Prof Ross Andrews at Menzies School of Health Research in Brisbane.  Ben completed the Public Health Officer Trainee Program at UNSW in 2012, and was most recently in the role of OzFoodNet coordinating epidemiologist at the Australian Department of health.

Andrea Parisi is currently visiting collaborators in the Queensland Health Department to progress her research into invasive non-typhoidal salmonellosis.

Martyn Kirk attended the COMPARE meeting in Denmark tracking zoonotic and foodborne disease through Europe.  Martyn Kirk presented on understanding the sources of Campylobacter in Australia and met with staff at the Staten Serum Institute in Denmark.
