Keynote and invited presentations

Brett Lidbury gave an invited presentation for the RCPA – QAP (Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia – Quality Assurance Program) – for a meeting entitled “Statistics and Datamining”. His presentation title was – “Pattern Recognition in Pathology Data to Improve Laboratory Diagnoses”.

Other conference presentations

Danielle Ingle has organised a national conference - MicroSeq2020. This is an online conference for any Australian-based researchers who uses sequencing technologies to answer microbiological questions - target audience later year PhD and ECRs. It is to be held in mid-November, supported by Australian Society of Microbiology, VIC Branch. 

Outreach and engagement

Tambri Housen was invited to facilitate an international panel on contact tracing for TEPHINET on the 17th September. The panel included representation from the South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network, Ethiopian, Guinean, Mexican, Costa Rican and Public Health Canada Field Epidemiology Training Programs and the Public Health Informatics Institute, USA Task Force for Global Health.

The 3 Module Learning Series for Contact Tracing, a collaboration between RSPH and the Public Health Agency of Canada and ACT Health is now undergoing translation into French. The translated modules will also be hosted on the World Health Organization’s Global Outbreak Alert and Response Networks (GOARN) training Platform. https://extranet.who.int/goarn/training-catalogue
