Rethink fitness of mind in fit-to-drive

2 May 2017

Scientists at the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health and Wellbeing (CRAHW) say that having mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is an unreliable indicator of driving skills and does not mean that the person is unfit to drive.

"Our research shows that people with MCI are not automatically at risk or unsafe - each person needs to be considered individually," said lead researcher, and CRAHW Director, Professor Kaarin Anstey.
