What is the aim of the survey?

While there are existing scales assessing attitudes to suicide, we are aiming to develop a new scale that specifically focuses on general attitudes to people who suicide. We are also aiming to develop a new scale that assesses knowledge about people who suicide. We plan to use these scales in a second study that will involve a large community survey. This subsequent study will examine how attitudes to suicide and knowledge about suicide may influence outcomes for people who experience suicidal thoughts or behaviours.

Are my answers confidential?

As all responses to this survey are anonymous, none of the information that you provide can be traced back to you. Nevertheless, all of your information is treated with the utmost privacy, and surveys will be stored in a locked filing cabinet on site here at the ANU.
