We welcome Dr Ella Dilkes-Frayne to the Society, Culture, and Health group. She will be working with Cathy and Anna this year. Ella also has a position at ANU Sociology, and brings with her skills in qualitative research, interpretive methodologies, and sociological theory.

Lyndall attended the Centre for Work Health and Safety (CWHS) research group meeting in Sydney on the 12th February.

Working to boost our collaborations with the ANUMS, Cathy and Anna were invited by Professor Christine Phillips to meet with Professor Simon Kitto, Director of Research in the Office of Continuing Professional Developmet, University of Ottawa. Simon is a medical sociologist working in health professions education who was visiting Canberra to discuss opportunities to expand hospital-based research, with a focus on social science approaches to understanding behaviours and practices.

Ruth Kharis was the PHAA representative for the ACT Food Regulation Reference Group 27 February 2019 meeting.

Ruth Kharis, as a DAA representative, contributed to the International Confederation of Dietetic Association’s Food Sustainability Initiative.

Ruth Kharis presented her PhD exit seminar; Coherent ‘Clean and green’ Australian food policies, February 21st, 2019, at RSPH
