Tamara Riley: Duguid Travelling Scholarship Report

World One Health Congress

With support from the Duguid Travelling Scholarship, I had the opportunity to attend the 6th World One Health Congress from 30th Oct to 3rd Nov 2020. Due to current travel restrictions the conference was held virtually and facilitated from Europe. I presented a poster on a recently published paper, titled ‘Evaluating impacts of a One Health approach to companion animal health and management in a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory, Australia’.

The conference was attended by over 1700 people from 99 countries bringing a variety of experience and discussions to the conference. The topics of the sessions were diverse and covered a large range of One Health research occurring internationally, with many world leaders in this space attending and presenting at the conference. My learnings from the conference will assist with my current research on One Health in Aboriginal communities in Australia.
