Congratulations to Robyn Lucas the 2016 recipient of the Tony Ayers Prize for Excellence in Research in Translational Medicine, established by the John James Foundation in honour of the Foundation's long-time Board member, the late Mr Tony Ayers AC.  Robyn heads the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health in the Research School of Population Health.

The Tony Ayers Prize is awarded each year to an early- to mid-career researcher holding a PhD, MD, or equivalent and conducting research in any area of translational medicine within CMBE.  The award of the Prize to Robyn this year is in recognition of her work on the interrelationships between sun exposure, vitamin D and multiple sclerosis and, in particular, the clinical trials currently underway to test the effects of sun exposure or vitamin D supplementation on the prevention of multiple sclerosis in high risk populations.

The prize includes an invitation to present a Public Lecture which, this year, will be held at 5.30 pm on Monday October 31 in the Finkel Lecture Theatre in the John Curtin School.
