Gabrielle Robens

Biography

Gabrielle is a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) Scholar in the 2022-23 cohort. She is placed in nipaluna/Hobart with the Department of Health, lutruwita/Tasmania.

Seconded to ACT Health from the Australian Government Department of Health, she supported the COVID-19 response in reporting, surveillance, case investigation and outbreak management. She has experience recent in health finance, budget and grants and previous work blood borne viruses and STIs.

Gabrielle has a background in Science (Biology) and has had 15 years’ experience as a professional in public health. She is interested in zoonotic diseases, and new and emerging infectious diseases. 

Through the MAE, Gabrielle is aspiring to develop her skills in field epidemiology for broad application in these areas and future emergency responses.

A practical person, Gabrielle is grateful for the opportunity to gain a masters with a technical skill set and a well established network. When not working, Gab is spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, riding her mountain bike and engaging in current issues. She is also interested in international relations and politics.
