Biography

Naomi has been a Research Assistant with Assoc Prof Julie Smith for since 2018 and is currently a PhD Candidate at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney working on advancing global food security for infants and young children. Naomi is the National Coordinator of the World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (founded in 2017 at ANU by Assoc Prof Julie Smith) – which brings together colleagues from all over the country. This team has now completed two assessments of Australia’s policies and programs in infant feeding - 2018 and 2023. Naomi feels strongly about finding a way to improve the breastfeeding experience for families by way of advocating for policy change in Australia and globally.
