About

Laura is a PhD student at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. Her research is focusing on strengthening Australia’s applied veterinary epidemiology workforce to manage current and future biosecurity threats effectively.

Laura has over 15 years’ experience in animal and public health in federal and state governments in Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region. With a background as a veterinarian and epidemiologist, Laura brings a wealth of practical knowledge and expertise to their research. This research builds on Laura’s 2019 Dr Dorothea Sandars Churchill Fellowship to investigate veterinary field epidemiology training programs for improved animal and public health.
