About
Nyo Yamonn is a researcher, writer and Fulbright alumna from Myanmar with a background in medicine and public health. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon, Myanmar, and a Master of Public Health from the Georgia State University, United States of America. Her professional experience includes volunteer medical service and extensive work in the nonprofit sector, particularly in health communication and community-based programming. Since 2020, her work has focused primarily on research.
Her PhD research focuses on community health workers in conflict-affected areas of Myanmar. She aims to explore ways to strengthen community-based health programs, with an emphasis on capacity building and the psychosocial well-being of community health workers. She is supported by the HDR Fee Remission Merit Scholarship.
