About

Eliza is a Master of Applied Epidemiology (MAE) scholar in the 2025-2026 cohort. She is undertaking concurrent field placements with the Antimicrobial Resistance Policy and Surveillance Section of the interim Australian Centre for Disease Control (the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing), and with the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit (MDU) at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.

Eliza has held a variety of roles in international development and public health research across the Asia-Pacific, with a focus on strengthening local systems to improve health outcomes. She holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPHTM) from James Cook University.

Eliza is particularly interested in communicable diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and the social determinants of health.
