About
Fiona’s PhD is focusing on predicting the impact of immunisation strategies on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in Australia through dynamic transmission modelling. Fiona worked on the development of an RSV model fitted to Western Australian linked health data in her work at the Telethon Kids Institute (TKI) with Prof Katie Glass (ANU), Dr Alexandra Hogan (UNSW) and A/Prof Hannah Moore (TKI). Her PhD will look at extending this work to model the use of new RSV therapeutics with the aim of providing useful evidence to underpin policy decisions. Fiona lives in Perth, WA with her family. She previously lived in Canberra for 8 years early in her career where she applied her mathematical and programming skills to work at the Australian Signals Directorate and the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resources Economics and Sciences.
