About
Carmel is a PhD candidate at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University.
She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology from ANU.
Before commencing her PhD, Carmel has worked at the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health and Wellbeing (CRAHW), NCEPH, ANU for 5 years as a Research Officer in the area of multiple sclerosis research. This has further developed her research interests in multiple sclerosis, cognition, and fatigue.
Her PhD research at NCEPH aims to investigate the psychological and cognitive components of MS-related fatigue and to examine the role of fatigue as a sub-clinical indicator of disease progression, which may contribute to improvements in the clinical management of people living with MS.
