Cyra has a keen interest in public health, strengthening health systems and health policy. She has an extensive background in health research, working in both clinical and academic settings.  She has worked across multiple projects to increase the uptake of research evidence in clinical practice and policy. In her role at the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance, she played a leading role in developing technical advice and recommendations for immunisation policy at the national level.

Cyra’s research project focuses on identifying the elements of resilient health systems, particularly in the context of infectious disease outbreaks. She intends to use these findings to build evidence-based practical tools that can be used by decision makers and program managers in responding to acute public health emergencies
