Biography

Marie is a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) student in the 2023-2024 Cohort.

Her placement is split between the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness at CSIRO and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL) at the Peter Doherty Institute. 

Marie has a background in social sciences and ethics and holds a Master’s of Global Health from Karolinska Institutet. Before joining the MAE program, Marie worked as a Scientific Officer in the Emergency Preparedness section of the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC). She has previously worked in HIV research and academic teaching.

Marie’s research interests lie in sexually transmittable infections, infectious disease zoonosis, and the decolonization of global health. Outside of her work, Marie enjoys spending time on her bike and watching french films.
