Thiyasha Kaushal is a Master of Applied Epidemiology (MAE) scholar in the 2026–2027 cohort, undertaking a placement with the NSW Health Communicable Diseases Branch.
Prior to the MAE, Thiyasha completed a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Public Health at The University of Queensland. As part of her MPH, she completed a dissertation in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit, examining the barriers and facilitators influencing maternal and infant respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine uptake. She has also worked across immunisation and tobacco research, as well as in consulting roles supporting policy initiatives.
Thiyasha has particular interests in infectious diseases and women’s and children’s health,and is committed to improving health outcomes for populations facing barriers to care.
