Smoking among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults: health impacts, associated factors, and trends over time

The prevalence of smoking among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults has decreased substantially in recent decades, but still remains up to 3 times that the non-Indigenous Australian population. This project uses large-scale data to generate detailed, accurate evidence specific to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population on the prevalence of smoking nationally and locally; factors associated with smoking; health consequences of smoking; and factors that support quitting smoking, in order to inform program and policy development.
