About

The aim of this project is to enhance understanding of how climate change affects the health and wellbeing of older adults living in rural and remote communities across Australia.

It will investigate the impacts of climate-related hazards on this population and identify factors that influence their vulnerability, adaptive capacity, and resilience. The research will also examine potential adaptation strategies and support mechanisms that can help older adults and their communities better prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate-related health risks.

By generating evidence on the health impacts of climate change and effective resilience-building approaches, this project will contribute to strengthening climate adaptation efforts in rural and remote Australia and support the development of more resilient and healthier communities in the face of a changing climate.
