The Impact of COVID-19 on the Mental Health in Friuli Veneto Giulia Region, Italy.
Giulio Castelpietra is a PhD and consultant psychiatrist at Central Health Directorate, Outpatient and Inpatient Care Service, Region Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG), Italy, and an adjunct professor at the University of Trieste and University of Udine. His PhD in Psychiatric Epidemiology at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, involved suicide prevention, mainly through antidepressant drug use.
His other main current research interests involve mental health service organisation and policy, and classification of psychiatric interventions. He is participating in the “Pecunia” project, founded by Horizon-2020 Program, as member of Scientific Association PSICOST. He is also collaborator of the Global Burden of Diseases project, with a main focus on mental health and suicidal behaviours and member of the Psychiatric Epidemiological Italian Society.
His current working activity concerns supervising and coordinating several technical boards for the FVG regional government, with regard to different health plans and policy actions concerning mental care and other health topics, such as penitentiary health. Currently he is living in Trieste, Italy.
