About

Sarah Bourke (she/her) is a Research Fellow with Yardhura Walani, the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research. She is a Gamilaroi, Jaru, Gidja woman born and raised on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country in Canberra. 

Dr Bourke is an expert in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and international Indigenous health and wellbeing research and policy, Indigenous research methodologies, Indigenous data sovereignty and governance, and community-led research design. Her work focuses on Indigenous philosophies of health and wellbeing and what it means to live a ‘good life’ from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other Indigenous perspectives.
