About
Mikala Sedgwick is a Gamilaraay woman, MPhil (Epidemiology) Scholar based with the Mayi Kuwayu Study at the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research, NCEPH, Australian National University. She specialises in Public Health, Disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Wellbeing with a key research interest in amplifying and advocating for the rights of First Nations people with disabilities along with improving the understanding of Autism.
Mikala previously worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research across multiple projects. She has a keen interest in building better relationships and networks within epidemiology, public health and disability spaces.
