About

Shishir is a public health researcher with over five years of professional experience spanning research, teaching, and the implementation of health programs in Nepal. His research interests include non-communicable diseases, social and cultural determinants of health, and health system strengthening. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of policy and practice. He served as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer at the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health, where he was responsible for monitoring and evaluating PEN-Plus project indicators and supporting PEN-Plus related training, orientation, and research activities focused on the delivery of care for severe chronic diseases. Additionally, he contributed to national health policy processes as a Consultant with the Nepal Health Sector Support Programme, where he supported the Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal, in the development of the Nepal Health Sector Strategic Plan (2022–2030). His academic track record includes teaching at universities and leading research projects that have resulted in over 50 publications, including in The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia, BMJ Open, and PLoS One. Currently, he is the recipient of an International University Research Scholarship to pursue his PhD at NCEPH under the supervision of Dr. Uday Yadav, focusing on multimorbidity management among the disadvantaged population in Nepal.
