Jia Kai has a background in Mental Health research and Secondary Education. He has previously completed his MPH in 2022 at the Australian National University. His master thesis focuses on sleep quality and mental health in working Australians. Prior to joining ANU, he has worked as a secondary science and mathematics teacher in Australia and Malaysia. However, it was eventually decided that his passion lies in researching health-issues, which resulted in his return to academia. His key research interests include mental health-related issues and policies, suicide prevention, adolescent mental health, and help-seeking behaviours.
