The Breastfeeding Economics and Environment group focuses on economic aspects of breastfeeding, the valuation and regulation of markets in mothers' milk, and the impact of suboptimal breastfeeding on the environment.

It collaborates with consumer groups such as the World Breastfeeding Trends initiative Australia on assessments of Australian policy on infant and young child feeding.
