Dr Emily Macleod is a Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist at the Centre for Mental Health Research at ANU. She has research interests in climate-related disaster psychology and supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Macleod's work focuses on developing evidence and resources to support children's mental health in climate-related disasters. In partnership with the NSW Department of Education, Dr Macleod is currently leading an evaluation of a new, Psychological First Aid in Schools program, to support student wellbeing in critical incidents and disasters.
Dr Macleod is also working on projects evaluating the effectiveness of a mental health literacy programs for promoting wellbeing in primary school and early high school children, and understanding the impacts of bushfire and other disasters on mental health and resilience.
