Guddu is a Research Fellow and current PhD candidate within the Master of Applied Epidemiology (MAE) program at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. Her research focuses on conducting an impact evaluation of the Australian Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) from 1991-2022 to better understand and map the role this workforce strengthening program has played in shaping the Australian public health landscape.
Guddu has 13 years’ experience as an applied epidemiologist in Australia and internationally across the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and South America. Her work has included outbreak investigations, implementation and evaluation of disease elimination programs, development of early warning systems and epidemiological workforce capacity building. She has a particular interest in public health work in resource limited and community-based settings. She has previously worked for organisations including the World Health Organization, International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as state health departments.
