About

Katie is an NHMRC Early Career Fellow (2019-2024) with Yardhura Walani, the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Wellbeing Research at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. She previously completed her MPhil and PhD in Epidemiology at ANU. Her driving ambition is to conduct community-engaged, policy-relevant research to support wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. She conducts research across community- and policy-identified priority areas, including racism, social and emotional wellbeing, tobacco control, and family and community safety. She employs mixed-methods, and strength-based research approaches.

Katie has experience in the design and analysis of large-scale and longitudinal studies. Her work program is embedded within Mayi Kuwayu: The National Study of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing.
