Our Health In Our Hands – personalised medicine transforming health care

This research is led by Associate Professor Julie Smith at University of Canberra in collaboration with Australian National University and Australian Breastfeeding Association. It aims to better enable women to meet their breastfeeding goals, reduce preventable mortality and morbidity in mothers and babies, and improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by investigating the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI).

This study will explore the challenges people experience in managing the affordability of certain health services or medicines.

The study involves meaningful collaborations between researchers, policymakers, clinicians, child health organisations, and importantly, young people, to co-design the research.

We aim to develop resources to support clinical reasoning to highlight points in a patient’s journey when a clinician should re-evaluate existing diagnoses to consider rare diseases.
