The ACT Asbestos Health Study will examine the health effects of living in a house with loose-fill asbestos insulation in the ACT. The study will provide information on domestic exposure to loose-fill asbestos in the ACT and on the health concerns of current and recent residents of Mr Fluffy houses.

This project is an update Data Linkage component of the ACT Asbestos Health Study conducted in 2015.

AusPathoGen aims to reduce the impact of infectious diseases on public health by improving pathogen characterisation and optimising responses through large-scale integration of pathogen genomics, epidemiological data and surveillance data at the population health level.

Australia is considered one of the successful countries in responding to and minimising the COVID-19 pandemic. The collaborative efforts among epidemiologists and health experts with state/territory and Commonwealth health departments helped stem the outbreak.

This project aims to conduct in-depth analysis of multiple causes of death from Australian death registration data for the period 2006-2017, focusing on the causal patterns for deaths from cardiovascular diseases, and their associations with other relevant communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The 45 and Up Study includes 1,934 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, within a general population-based cohort. Future work will focus on common sources of disability and morbidity, the relationship of physical and mental health, adult hearing loss and risk factors such as smoking. Indigenous inequalities in CVD and CVD care are considered below.

This project uses linked data to understand the socio-demographic cohorts in the COVID-19 vaccine strategy, COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness in the Australian population, and the fatal burden of COVID-19 in residential aged care homes in Australia.
